Author Bio
I hold a master’s degree in nursing and currently work as a university nursing professor. I have worked in the nursing profession for twenty-eight years. My novel, An Unexpected Healer is a fictional story inspired by my five years in a Surgical/Orthopedics department and eight years in a Trauma ICU.
I am a Salvadorean-born, American writer. My mom, dad, older brother, and I arrived in the US in 1971. My younger brother was born a few years later. I grew up in the Bronx in New York City and lived there until 2001. I began my love affair with L.A. during my time in the Navy in the early eighties.
I am a plantain chip on a stack of french fries. My goal as an author is to tell the Latinx story in America; stories that are not being told enough in literature, music, or film. I write stories about those who are caught between the old world and the new.
